The short version: be at least 13, keep your account safe, only share what you have the right to, follow the Community Guidelines, and remember that sparks are just for fun. The details are below.

1. About these terms

Zylfr is a live streaming website run by the people who run Zylfr ("we", "us"). These terms are the agreement between you and us when you use Zylfr, whether you're watching, chatting or streaming.

Our Community Guidelines are part of these terms. They explain in everyday language what is and isn't OK here.

2. Who can use Zylfr

You must be at least 13 years old to make an account.
You can watch streams without an account. Chatting, following, sparks, rewards and streaming need one.
You can't use Zylfr if we've disabled your account before, unless we've said you can come back.

3. Your account

Keep it to yourself. One person per account. Don't share your password, and keep your stream key private: anyone with it can stream as you. If you think someone else has it, reset it in Settings straight away.
Your name is also your channel's address. Don't pick one that pretends to be someone else, or that's offensive. We may ask you to change it.
You're responsible for what happens on your account, including your chat and anything your stream shows.
Leaving: you can delete your account at any time in Settings. That removes your account, your channel, the channels you follow and your recent chat messages.

4. Your streams and messages

What you post is still yours. By streaming, chatting or uploading (like emotes) on Zylfr, you give us permission to host it, show it to other people on Zylfr, and make the copies needed to do that (for example stream thumbnails). This permission ends when you remove the content or delete your account, apart from copies we reasonably keep for a short time, for safety, or because the law requires it.

Only share what you have the right to share. You must own your content, including your profile picture and emotes, or have permission to use it. That includes music, films, TV and other people's streams. Streaming games is fine where the game's publisher allows it; many do, but some don't.

Don't stream or post anything illegal, and follow the Community Guidelines.

5. Sparks, rewards and polls

Sparks are just for fun. They have no money value. They can't be bought, sold, swapped for money, or cashed out, on Zylfr or anywhere else.

You earn sparks by watching live streams, and admins can also give them. You can spend them on a channel (sending sparks or redeeming channel rewards) or on profile frames. Frames you buy or earn are yours while your account exists, but, like sparks, they have no money value.
We may change how sparks are earned, adjust anyone's balance (for example to fix a mistake or undo cheating), or reset them. Using scripts, bots or extra accounts to collect sparks isn't allowed.
Channel rewards are set up by streamers. A streamer or their mods may refund a redemption, but a reward isn't a promise. If a streamer can't do it, that's between you and them, and there's no money involved.

6. Moderation and enforcement

Streamers and their mods look after their own chats. Site admins (shown as Core Staffers) look after the whole site.

If something breaks these terms or the Community Guidelines, we may remove it, and we may time out, ban from a channel, stop streaming for, or disable the account involved. We'll usually start small, but serious problems, especially anything illegal or that puts someone at risk, can lead to an immediate ban. Where it's appropriate and legally required, we'll report illegal content to the police or other authorities.

Think we got it wrong? Contact the site's admins and explain what happened. A person will look at it again.

7. Your data

We keep only what Zylfr needs to work and to stay safe, and we don't sell your data or show ads. Our Privacy Notice explains exactly what we keep, why, for how long, and your rights, including downloading or deleting your data in Settings.

8. The service itself

Zylfr is run as a small community project. We try to keep it running smoothly, but we can't promise it will always be available, error-free, or that streams won't drop. We may change features, pause the site for maintenance, or close it. If we plan to close it, we'll try to give reasonable notice.

9. Responsibility

Streams and chat are made by users, not by us, and we don't check everything before it appears. We aren't responsible for what users say or show, though we'll act on problems we become aware of.

As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for losses that come from using Zylfr or not being able to use it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't legally be limited, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud, and nothing affects your legal rights as a consumer.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when Zylfr gets new features. We'll change the "Last updated" date at the top and, for important changes, let people know on the site. If you keep using Zylfr after a change, the new terms apply. If you don't agree with them, you can delete your account.

11. Law and contact

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in another part of the UK, you can also bring a claim in the courts where you live.
