Community Guidelines

Be kind, keep it legal, label your stream honestly, and help keep Zylfr a good place to hang out. These guidelines apply to everyone: viewers, streamers, mods and admins. They're part of our Terms of Service.

Be a good neighbour

Zylfr is a small community. Treat people the way you'd want your own chat treated. Disagreeing is fine; attacking people isn't.

No harassment or bullying. Don't target, threaten, mock or pile on to anyone, in chat, through raids, or by following someone around the site.
No hate. No attacks or slurs based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age or similar characteristics.
No threats or encouraging violence, even as a "joke".
Respect privacy. Don't share anyone's personal information (address, phone, workplace, real name if they don't use it, photos) without their permission. Don't stream people who haven't agreed to be on stream.
Be yourself. Don't pretend to be another person, streamer, mod or Core Staffer.
Pictures and names are seen everywhere, so your profile picture, name, channel title, emotes and offline image must suit everyone, like the Family friendly rating.

Never allowed

These lead to an immediate ban, and where the law requires it, a report to the authorities.

Anything that sexualises children, or any attempt to contact a child for sexual reasons.
Sexually explicit content or nudity, at any content rating.
Terrorist content, or promoting violent extremism.
Sharing intimate images of someone without their consent, or threatening to.
Selling or promoting illegal goods, like drugs or weapons.
Scams, fraud, phishing, or links to malware.
Encouraging or giving instructions for suicide or self-harm.

Content ratings

Every channel picks a rating in Settings. Pick the one that honestly fits your stream, and change it if a stream will be different from usual.

Family friendly: suitable for everyone. No strong language or scary or gory content.
Teen: some strong language, cartoon or fantasy violence, mild scary moments.
Mature (18+): frequent strong language, realistic violence in games, and mature themes. Mature still never means sexual content or nudity.

When you stream

You're responsible for your stream and your chat. Choose mods you trust, and use the tools: timeouts, bans, slow mode, blocked words and deleting messages.
Only stream what you have the right to. Don't restream other people's streams, films, TV or sports, and be careful with music: most commercial music isn't licensed for streaming.
Stay safe. Nothing dangerous or illegal for views, and no driving while streaming.
Raids should be friendly. Only raid to share your community with someone, never to flood or harass their chat.
Rewards and polls should be honest. Only offer rewards you're willing to do, and refund ones you can't.

In chat

No spam. Don't flood chat, post the same thing again and again, or advertise without the streamer's okay.
Mods' calls stand in their channel. If you disagree with a decision, raise it calmly with the streamer or a site admin, not by arguing in chat.
Don't get around a timeout or ban with another account.

Sparks fair play

Earn sparks by actually watching. No bots, scripts, auto-clickers or extra accounts to farm them.
Sparks can't be traded for money, gifts or anything outside Zylfr, and nobody should ask you to.

Looking out for each other

If someone in chat or on stream seems to be in crisis, be kind, don't pile on, and let a mod or site admin know.

If someone is in immediate danger, call 999 (UK) or your local emergency number. If you're struggling yourself, you can talk to Samaritans any time, free, on 116 123 (UK and Ireland).

Reporting a problem

Use the Report button: hover over a message and press the flag, or use the flag next to Share on a channel. Reports go straight to the site's admins, and you can check on them in Settings.
In a channel: you can also tell the streamer or one of their mods (they have a green mod tag).
Anything else, or anything serious: contact the site's admins. Include the channel name, the time, and what happened, plus a screenshot if you have one.

Reports are taken seriously, and we won't tell the person who reported them.

What happens when rules are broken

Depending on how serious it is, a streamer, a mod or a site admin may:

delete messages or give a warning
time you out, or ban you from a channel
take away sparks gained by cheating
stop a channel from streaming, or disable an account across the whole site

Anything in the "Never allowed" section leads straight to a site-wide ban. If you think a decision was wrong, contact the site's admins.
